About Cape Coral ...
Cape Coral - your very own "Secret Place". Located on Florida’s lower Gulf Coast, 125 miles south of Tampa, tropical Cape Coral is known for its delightful weather. Sunshine is practically constant, making each day comfortably predictable, winters are near-perfect, especially if you’re escaping from a colder climate. With over 400 miles of tropical waterways, Cape Coral boasts some of the best recreation facilities in the state of Florida. The Caloosahatchee River, named after the ancient Calusa Indians who inhabited this piece of paradise, is a meandering river that flows from Lake Okeechobee in the center of the state to the Gulf of Mexico providing constant recreational activity such as sailing, boating, water skiing and fishing.
Bordered by the Caloosahatchee River on the east and Matlacha Pass on the west and with it’s close proximity to one of the most diverse and spectacular Eco systems in the world, the foundations for Cape Coral’s future prosperity were laid back in 1957 by two land speculators, Leonard and Jack Rosen who believed that it’s unique location on the Gulf Coast provided almost endless opportunities for waterfront living. Cape Coral today has more miles of canals than any other city anywhere in the world! In 1959, water view home sites were sold for $990, waterfront lots were sold for $1,900, and riverfront cost $3,390.
Today for many visitors from around the world Leonard and Jack Rosen’s “vision” of waterfront living has already been realized with vibrant communities of homeowners from Europe, United Kingdome, Canada and US all choosing to make Cape Coral their destination of choice for their own vacation home in paradise.
